About ‘Girl In Motion’

Girl In Motion tells the story of a twenty-something girl living in London. In addition to the everyday trials of friendship and dating, the girl has a little 'something extra' which makes life a little bit more colourful.

The film was shot over 2 weekends in early March 2011 in and around central London and Norwich. The film is set to be entered into several UK Film Festivals.

Amy De Bhrún – Actress – ‘Girl’

Amy De Bhrún is an accomplished actress, singer and writer. Originally from the fair auld city of Dublin, she moved to London at the age of 19 to pursue an acting career.

She has appeared in television productions such as ‘Tess of the D‟Urbervilles’, ‘The South Bank Show (ITV)’, whilst her feature film credits include ‘Bigga than Ben’ (co-starring Ben Barnes and Andrei Chadov) and ‘Lovelorn’ (Bafta 2008). Amy’s theatre credits include; ‘A Short Swim in the Air’ (UK & Ireland Tour - The Pleasance Theatre) and ‘Innocence’ at the Criterion Theatre in London’s West End.

Amy is currently touring with her critically acclaimed One Woman Show 'Life', which premiered at London's prestigious new writing venue The Old Red Lion in November 2010 - and will transfer to The Roundhouse Theatre in August 2011.

Amy became involved with Double Crossed Films when they directed several shorts in conjunction with her own production company 'Solas'.

 

Phil Bowman – Writer/Director


After completing a Masters in Psychology, Phil moved back into the media to pursue his passion for filmmaking.

Using his journalism experience to network within the music industry, Phil became videographer for million-selling, US hard-rockers CKY, producing live videos, tour diaries and ads for their tours.

Now he has made the move into narrative storytelling through work on both his own and others' short films. His work last year included directing Solas Productions, 'The Secret Child of Shanti' whilst developing his second short film 'Girl In Motion'.

Phil works as an assistant editor and is currently developing his next short film.

 

Matthew Lawson -  Producer

Matt Lawson honed his technical skills working as a sound engineer and Head of Sound at Royal Holloway Students' Union. Following his studies he moved into the world of film and television.

He currently works as a production accountant, having worked on a number of productions for both BBC and ITV and even the 2011 Oscar Winning British film 'The King's Speech'.

He is currently working with Phil to produce their next short.
